Bottle Flies 02:43
Butterflies flies in webs of light. Bottle flies crawl on my face. Green the color green I say. Melting down the mountains sway. Thrush calls weaving mindspell daze In the light lichens amaze Drinking water, pleasant spring Feel my earth, kneel on me There is morning filtered light There is naught to do today There is nothing ordinary There is nothing more to say

about

Yamaha MT1X 4-track cassette solo compositions 1986-88. Originally compiled as "Half Life" on SA-60 tapes that only found their way into a local (Tucson) underground record store at the time and Aquarius Records in SF several years later. Lifted from original cassette mixes and mastered correctly (October 2021, 35 years after acquisition of the MT1X).

All real drums are Bruce Treadaway. Bass on Pat Robertson by Joel Moore. All other sounds by Schedule II.

Synth drums are treated recordings of preset beats from a Casio type "mall" organ ("my father's organ")

All live recordings used a single Radio Shack Hi-Ball microphone.

12 and 6 string acoustic guitars, Les Paul/Marshall combo, lap steel, bow, bass, handful of Boss and MXR guitar pedals, a REX-50, a 60's era Moog, pots and pans, radio and television sound sources, found tapes and records, piano, broken guitar cable, anything else I could find.

Thanks to the salesman at Guitar Workshop (Tucson, 1986) who steered me away from the immensely popular TASCAM Portastudio to the MT1X as it was the first cassette 4 track with an auxiliary effects loop that proved vital to all these recordings, allowed a cornucopia of treatments.

Special thanks to Bruce and Joel, who played together since childhood. I came into their world "late", at 17. Their chemistry is fully displayed on Pat Robertson.
