Don't Ask Me Why (Guess I Should've Been a Sailor)

from Half Life (tape release 1988) by Schedule II

about

One of my first 4-track pieces. Banging on the crap couch I had for percussion. The samples are from early talk radio, nascent right wing drivel posing as unstaged. 1986 Reagan was firmly in place and military fervor was being stoked after the Vietnam bruising. I just turned on the radio while making this and this what was on. A ready-made of sorts. The double ententres are gold.

artwork: Tom of Finland (all rights). His distinctive artwork pretty much defines homoeroticism, well deservedly. This track fits with this, one of his most famous works.
